Treewise Pencils

I LOVE these pencils so much!
As an Eco artist, finding a resource that you use daily AND that is Eco friendly is a real treat and deserves to be shouted about!

Treewise Pencils are made from 100% Recycled Newspapers and by choosing them over your standard wooden pencil you are able to 'Save trees ONE Pencil at a time' as their #strapline states.
I discovered these in the spring whilst searching for recycled pencils to display in my handmade pen pots at a fair and I have never looked back. I was impressed by the company ethos and educational work and you can find out more about that here.

I bought a pack of 10 on Ebay for £3.50 but wholesale is available and I will definitely be back for more.
When they arrived, the box educated me about the comparison between wood and newspaper pencils and the website also promises 'no breakage on sharpening' which has been proven in the months I have been using them and also, they really last between sharpening.
Furthermore, upon sharpening, I found the waste from the pencils easy to recycle and with reuse value too!

Yes it is just a pencil! But we've been using them since Roman times and I can't imagine them ever being made redundant. Used daily by children and adults alike this a step in the right direction to see a more sustainable way
of making them.

The HB # 2 Extra Dark pencil offers a decent range of shading tonal values which I'm certain is not exhausted by my small effort here.
So, if you use pencils and want to save some trees, buy some Treewise Pencils!
Sending love,
Saz xx
